Olivia & Will’s Announces Boy’s Four–Poster “King’s Castle” Bed

With Lighted Three–Dimensional Towers and Carved “Stonework”

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Sept. 10, 2006) — Olivia & Will’s Fine Children’s Furniture today announced a boy’s four-poster “king’s castle” bed as part of a new William’s King Arthur Collection. The bed features three-dimensional towers at each corner - two lighted turrets in the towers at the head - stonework carved into the headboard, footboard and towers, and a shield with an authentic family crest and coat-of-arms set into the center of the headboard – just right for a boy dreaming of being a famous knight at King Arthur’s round table.

In twin or full size, the bed can be ordered with side rails, drawers for storage, or with tuck-away trundle beds. The King Arthur Collection also includes matching chests of drawers, nightstands, desks, armoires and several other pieces. Built to last as an heirloom, the bed and other pieces in the collection are constructed of hardwood for its damage resistance and strength, with rabbit and mortise and tenon joints for durability.

The castle bed will be officially shown to the trade for the first time at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas on September 10, along with the previously announced girl’s castle bed as part of Olivia’s Princess Collection, which features a “diamond” tiara in place of the family crest.

The story behind the furniture

Fred Golightly, the founder of Olivia & Will’s Fine Children’s Furniture, is a skilled woodworker. He made the first castle bed as a special gift for his daughter, Olivia, working in his garage. Other parents who saw the bed were awed, suggested Fred go into business, and Olivia & Will’s was born.
